Learning How to Use WordPress

Learning Wordpress for beginners and for those who have not really used it much.

Working with Pages

The most common practice with Pages, once you have created and published your page, is to decide which page is to become part of the main Website Menu. Associating pages to the Menu makes pages accessible from the top or sides of pages so visitors to your site may find what they are looking for.

We will cover "How to Add Pages to Menu" in the next section but it important you have knowledge of this function, associating pages to the menu, so that you can get a better idea of WHY and HOW you create pages.

A page is what presents your company or product to the public and should contain wording (or what Google calls 'content') that is going to attract a person to your site once they type in something relative to your site - into a search engine.

Search Engines use "KEYWORDS" that are extracted from your Website using an automated tool (software) called a robot, or 'bot' for short. this is important to know because these bots will look for the keywords associated with a huge list of words that the public types into Google and Yahoo and Bing when they are searching for anything in particular. If a user types in "car parts, solenoid" then the Search Engine looks through its robot database and comes up with a number of Websites which have that KEYWORD someplace within the CONTENT of the Website. If you put the right words into your WP pages then the bots will "index" you site as one of the sites containing those KEYWORDS and hopefully users will find you based on how often or how relative the KEYWORDS are distrubuted within the Pages of your Website.

So in general when you create a page your number one concern to remember is the Keyword aspect of the Internet schema. Unfortunately this is one reason why you may visit a page on the Internet that does not appear to be classically grammatically correct or seems a little skewed in the layout of the wording. Google and Bing and Yahoo, as well as Yandex (the largest in Asia), are trying to remedy this enigma by changing the way they "scrape" (another part of the robots job) your web-pages. It becomes complex for the people who write the Robot Software but it changes often to keep things fair between websites that are grammar oriented, such as educational institutes, and site that are commercial which care more about attracting Robots than educators.
